Temple Trip

The Palmyra New York Temple is going to be our temple for the next 2 1/2 years. Our ward did a Temple trip on Feb 28th. Which gave us the opportunity to attend a session. We left at 6:45 am drove the 2 hours and 45 min to arrive at the Palmyra Inn to drop off the kid at headed to the session we are so grateful for are ward with the wonderful idea to trade babysitting so both and I were able to attend the session together.
Behind my wonderful husband and girls is the Sacred Grove. The Palmyra Temple is the only Temple that has a clear window so you can see out and people also can see in. The reason behind this is that President Hinkley wanted people to be able to look out on to the Sacred Grove from inside the Temple. The Girls and I are standing in front of that window.

It was way to cold to go an actually take a tour of the Sacred Grove or the Smiths Farm House so that will have to wait until our next visit but we did get to go to the Visitor Center. It sits at the base of Hill Cumorah. There is so much history here we love it. Tayla was way excited to see the Statue of Jesus. I think it brought a little bit of St. George back to her. She always loved going to the St. George Visitor Center.

I couldn't help but add these pics of my two darling girls. Poor Amerie this is how she spends most of are adventures out of the house in her car seat.

Luck of the Irish

Well St. Patty's day is a lot bigger here then it every was in Utah. They start there celebrating on the Saturday before. On the news they put it well they said that this weekend
warms up the liver for the rest of the celebration. On actual
St. Patrick's Day the bars open at 7am. they advertised a St. Patrick Day breakfast "Lucky Charms and Beer" or "Green Eggs and Ham with Beer." Crazy huh we are not in Utah any more.We decided to go to the parade they had it was fun Everyone was in green. I just had to laugh not realizing how big it was.
Us headed to the parade I had both kids because Andy had to go Study
Before the prade we went to try some of the good maple syrup they have around here. There are 5 different places in Erie that makes maple products and they all opened there doors that day so for people to see how they make maple syrup and to try samples yummy. It was even a Saturday so Andy got to come with us. YAY!

This was pretty cool they where all dressed up in old time army stuff they even fired off there guns it was way loud. They march different formations according to the drummer boys beat. I also had a picture of a float put on by a bar. I couldn't get it to post (still trying to figure out this blog stuff). It was pretty elaborate float I was impressed that a bar would but so much effort into it.

Canada Eh

Andy had some time off for Spring Break the 1st week in March so we took off across the border to Canada. We first hit the Buffalo Zoo it was cold cold cold. When we got there we thought we were the only ones crazy enough to go to the zoo when it was it was 23 degrees but with wind chill it felt like -11. We did eventually see a few other crazy souls. Most of the animals thought it was too cold to come out so we didn’t see very many animals.

The Tiger did decide to greet us!

They have a Rain Forest Exhibit that was inside so it was nice and warm. Tayla really enjoyed it, especially the pink birds. (Because they are pink of course)

Amerie all bundled up she slept through the whole Zoo trip

More to come on about this trip...

Tag your it...

Ok this is for Danielle she tagged me a month ago even before I had a blog. So here it goes.

Directions fill out 6 quirky things about yourself. Then choose six people to be tagged and let them know by commenting on their blogs.

1. I dislike when something scratches up against cotton sheets or the diaper bags that are spill proof (you know the ones I’m talking about the ones you free from the hospital the Enfamil ones) I really don’t like it I’m getting goose bumps and cringing thinking about.

2. I love love love. Hot showers. Some days I will take two showers just because. It is my time. Love it.

3. I don’t mind washing and folding laundry but not such a big fan of putting it away.

4. I love going to stores to see the best deal I can get. Sometimes I will drive to a store multiple times waiting for things to go on better clearance. When in all actuality I probably have spent just the same amount of money with the gas I used driving there.

5. I would sit around and read a good book all day if I could. I have hard time starting a book unless Andy is home to watch the girls because I don’t want to but the book down.

6. I like trying new recipes out but don’t like doing the dishes afterward.

Six people to tag: Erin, Jody (time show us your mad blogging skills), Rachel, Kristy, Trudy, & Stehanie
